Sine Mora

Sine Mora (シネモラ, shine mora) is a single-player diesel-punk shoot 'em up developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality. It is scheduled to be released on XBLA and PSN in January 2012. Aesthetically, this reminds me of Progear No Arashi, making this downloadable title pretty hard for me to resist.

Darth and Chronic, this post is for you

by the way, Darth, you are so into hardcore games - ninja gaiden, hard corps, etc - why don't I ever see you playing shooter like this? I would imagine you could be pretty damn good at them. If you haven't, give them a try! Quite a few cave shooters are region free and more affordable now. Give Mushihimesama Futari a whirl...

Well, I have played games like Sin & Punishment on N64 and Ikaruga on Gamecube. But to give you an answer as to why you don't see me playing these kind of games: They take too much practice and repitition to get good enough...

As long as they have great music and audio effects I'm willing to play them. Ingame music is somehow very important to me, it adds to the addictive-ness of games (more to me then other people). Speaking of which, I just checked some vids on Mushihimesama Futari and I liked what I heard... :P

I also saw comments of people saying Mushihimesama Futari has arguably the hardest boss in shmup history...? I think I'll check it out when I get bored with Dead Island.

Don't let that boss stuff get you down. It's only hard as hell if you fight the Last True Boss and you only get to do that if you truly MASTER the game (getting through the entire thing without taking a single hit - yeesh, no thanks). Otherwise, the final boss isn't so bad if you've lost a life somewhere during your run.

I like that soundtrack the best of any Cave game so far. The game used to be pretty pricey, but they've released a Platinum Hits version that goes for about $35 USD new.
