Maybe its just nostalgia, but something about the entirely dated and cheesy presentation and gameplay appeals to me. Its a PS3 exclusive, which is a definitely a huge drawback as almost all my friends are on XBL, but at some point I will probably pick this up - most likely when it hits the $20 and under bargain bin.

The twisted metal series are all good games, but obscure as hell. It's especially weird how they handled the european release of Twisted Metal: Black.
The game kinda felt empty to me mainly because there was no story-telling at all. When I started to look online for info I found out they just cut all the movies for the European version... This just boggles my mind.
It's not the first time stuff like this happened (Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles because NINJA is 'such' a violent word)But it's friggin Twisted Metal, the sick and twisted personalities of the drivers in the game is one of the main selling points...
People are not watching Saw or Texas chainsaw massacre for it's storyline, they want to delve themselves into the psyche of these deranged people... Just to see what makes them tick, not to copy what they do...

I just found out the new Ridge Racer game is being made by the makers of Flatout. If they can mix cool drifting with battling something good might come out of it.
I wish they would just make a new Flatout XBLA game with the stunts only. Flatout was always the poor mans Burnout, a great series in its own right but always in the shadow of the true titan of the arcade racing genre. Hopefully the new Ridge Racer will hold us over until the next Burnout game, but its hard for me to get too excited.
Wish you would sign on to XBL more Mr. Pisdnpuaq, and throw me an invite to Halo, I still have all 3 of them (I dont think anyone plays Anniversary).
