Went pretty deep in the FTP Fifty-Fifty only to get busted by some trash talking guy on a crazy move. In No Limit Holdem, A-K is my favorite hand. I got it all in preflop, the way I like to, and it missed. Only, I wasnt coin flipping against Queens or Jacks - the guy had J-10 and I was almost a 2-1 favorite, with the money in sight. People say that your variance is a lot higher in big field tournaments, and as mostly a cash game player Id have to agree. All I can say is the same thing as Barry Greenstien: lol donkaments.

Donkeys + Tournaments = Donkaments
OK so the term donkaments came into use a few years ago on the internet, especially on the 2+2 poker forums where it became prevalent and eventually ubiquitous in the comments. Whenever someone would win a huge tournament or get busted out by some ridiculous hand and post about, the replies would just be a series of people typing in, lol donkaments.
So eventually a bunch of the top online players agreed to put up $10,000 for Barry Greenstien's charity if he said lol donkaments on High Stakes Poker, which he finally did much to the delight and glee of the internet poker hordes.
On a lot of the freerolls the donks aren't even there, so it's 2 or 3 active players out of 8 or 9 at the start, the rest are dead donkeys :)
Just played another tourney, got about 3/4 of the way in, I had A-9 in the BB, and called a min raise. The flop was A-6-8 with two spades. I checked, he led out and I called. Turn was a red 7. So now I have top pair with an up and down. I check, he bets the pot, I go with my read and move all in.
Amazingly, he calls with KJ of spades, the river is the 10 of spades, and Im out. Again.
I was exactly a 4-1 favorite when the money went in.
