I think the game is seriously overpriced @ $60, especially if you are not a big Halo multiplayer fan.
Personally if I could only buy one game this week, it would be Uncharted 2. Fortunately thats not the case, and because I do enjoy the occasional SWAT match and Firefight sounds really, really fun, I will bite the bullet and plunk down the $60.
Beating the game on Normal mode in Co-op? You could do Halo 3 like that in under 4 hours with no skulls on.
Having all of Halo 3 minus the campaign and replacing it with a different non-spartan campaign and a Horde type mode makes it fair I think as a standalone game.
The value falls with the amount of overlap though, as you say how much of Halo 3 multiplayer you like/have of the maps.

Im thinking about getting it, do you think we will go back and play Firefight as often as we play Horde?
For another opinion, check out the Ars Technica review.

Yeah, i think i only bought one of the map packs for Halo 3, so to me it seems like a solid deal. All the mappacks for Halo 3 equal what $30 or so?
So i get the complete multiplayer packed with 3 brand new maps along with a new 6 hour campaign and firefight mode.
I went ahead and bought mine a half hour ago and i will probably go to the midnight release if im still up.
