Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey is the best. The cards dont always fall for him, and sometimes people will make horrible calls against him, or get lucky and catch up on the river, but thats poker. The best players dont win everytime, otherwise there would be no game.

Is it bad that I can't watch that without hearing the bumbling guitar from Texas Holdem in my head?

It was a powerful move. When you got down to it even the stray 2 was enough. Ivey could have even have had a Royal Flush.

You have to make those moves in tournaments though. Good play all round.

Ivey played it so strong, I'd probably put him on Jacks or the nut flush draw there. I think Dia played it pretty weakly on the turn, why call on the flop with nothing, hit an Ace and then just flat call again? If he put Ivey on a 2, JJ, or a made flush, he should fold, if he thinks Ivey is drawing or bluffing, like he was, he should have raised. I understand keeping the pot small but at a certain point you have to stand up or give it up, because Dia left himself in a horrible spot on the river when Ivey jammed. He probably had to call for the math at that point, even though it was a horrible call, and you can tell he hated to make it. I think he just flipped a coin in his head as time ran out; he had Ivey covered, otherwise no way he calls.
